pippadee
It was a coordination committee for Sheffield Corporation and Railway buses. A the time there were quite a few buses - mainly out-of-town routes - run by the Railway's. I remember seeing them fairly frequently, the livery was the standard blue and cream. alexander874
There were 3 fleets in Sheffield , buses carried a red letter A B or C on the front . The A fleet carried the city coat of arms and all the routes operated within the city boundary , the B fleet routes operated usually within a few miles of the city boundary many of these areas are now in Sheffield like Stocksbridge , High Green , Grenoside and Stannington . The C fleet routes were operated on behalf of the British Railways Board and operated to long distance areas like Manchester , Bradford , Gainsborough and Leeds . The B & C routes carried Sheffield Joint Omnibus fleetnames and no coat of arms .
