The Consequences of Brexit (part 3)

Recommended Posts

So, one of the reasons people voted for Brexit was to cut the number of people coming to this country, now it looks like May and the conservatives are moving away away from their pledge to slash immigration today as a Cabinet minister declared the issue was “not about numbers”.

Which is a good thing for the economy yes!

I also love the 'charity begins overseas' aspect of the Mayhem's policy statement.

We've presumably discussed here already how we could have cut immigration without leaving?

There is probably no need for May to slash numbers, according to some of the Remain posters on here many have stopped coming in and some are going home .... the NHS is going to have a staffing crisis apparently :suspect:

Yes cut the disabled peoples cars make them fight to get something that is a benefit to them for getting to work and pay for their taxis as I said in a thread the other week. As long as May looks good in the eyes of the world giving money to countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan to help them it's ok, so much for their caring party tag.

What you've got to remember is the current system makes it illegal for the UK to set quality and calibre thresholds in relation to immigration. It's not simply a numbers games.

That isn't true.

We could always move to Eastern Europe, especially Hungary where they're having non of it, plus cheap housing and cheap land to grow your own. One of the most difficult languages to learn though.

It seems the East European man is a MAN, compared to the PC-indoctrinated wimps of western Europe. Polish Jan Sobiesky once saved Europe from what we're having forced on us now. Europe didn't roll over so readily back then, or ever.

Absolutely it isn't.

Within the parameters of EU membership the UK has full freedom to:

1. Restrict numbers of immigrants from non-EU countries as it sees fit. Total control over that.

2. Introduce a contributions-based benefits system that discourages those who don't have work, and those for whom coming here is attractive for in-work benefits

Neither happened under the Tories. People can deny it but the reality is the Tories aren't going to change and for one reason - money - as they are supporting the marketisation of higher education. And they are supporting the demands for cheap state-subsidised labour for businesses.

Only complete idiots cannot see this.

His post was typical Brexiter lies. The sort of thing that is intended to make people run scared.

Disgusting stuff really.
