The Consequences of Brexit (part 3)

Recommended Posts

Why don't the UK government introduce laws to put a stop to it then,so that UK workers will want the jobs, instead of blaming the EU and immigration?

The conservative government hasn't because conservative donors and voters are the people who make money out of the low priced labour...

Maybe, but that doesn't explain the blaming of the EU,or the claim by Farage that EU migrants want your jobs, when they are taking jobs that Brits will not put up with conditions of,so basically again blaming the EU for the failings of UK governments.

Legally we can't. Open borders + the single market is sacrosanct to the EU project and any attempt to look after one's own national interests is considered blasphemous.

Quote the EU laws that prevent the UK government changing UK laws on pay and conditions at UK companies.

Legally we can. And always could. We chose not to. Then blamed the EU.

Corbyn is one of life's born negotiators; respectful, conciliatory but no push over. He's had lots of practise...

For example, negotiating with the IRA, and our friends in Hamas.

Didn't manage to negotiate a truce in his own party though...

We failed to reform the European Union. Successive governments have tried for decades to change the direction of travel and the ideologies. The MoD has for years been warning about the consequences of enlargement and the fault lines that would develop if you allow any one nation within the EU to start throwing its weight around (Germany).

The future of the EU very much depends on what role Germany wants to play over the next few years.

What?! And undo years of work by successive Tory governments at reducing worker's rights?!

You must be having a laugh.

I've seen very little evidence of any such attempts. Have you any references?

It would depend very much what we wanted if we were still a member.

But perhaps you could tell us what Germany are doing wrong. By all accounts they have a happy, healthy population and are generally doing very well at, AFAIK pretty much everything.

Are you stuck in 1939, and not noticed you've switched sides?

You forgot to answer/provide the EU rules I asked for to back up your claim about pay and conditions at UK companies, has nothing to do with reforming the EU.
