I must admit I get a little annoyed as I live on a school road that really could use a road sweeper even if only once a month, but in the 16yrs i've lived here i've never seen one. We live in a country where free speech is allowed, so if people want to blindly celebrate multiculturalism they have every right to do so. I, however, have no wish to celebrate FGM, Breast Ironing, Honour Killing, Forced Marriage, Voter Fraud, Child Sexual Exploitation, Spitting in the street, Fly-tipping and littering, all of which seem to be acceptable in some cultures. While the PC zealots continue to try and suppress discussion of these issues they will never be eliminated. You can't start a thread about a current news story about Asians abusing children because white people do it as well, now you cant start a discussion about something that was on the front of The Star this weekend because white people abuse children, truly incredible. I wonder why all those on this thread condemning the residents of Page Hall are more concerned about that than they are about white paedophiles. Most people are blaming the Roma people but I have seen some Roma people sweeping up outside their house and taking pride in where they live so it's not all the Roma people doing it. The problem is that some Roma don't care and just chuck rubbish about but also other nationalities are also doing it because it's got to the point where some think **** it no point using a bin as nobody else does it. Shopkeepers don't take pride in the fronts of their shops and just let groups congregate outside and drop litter. I think educating the litter throwers is not going to work as they know it's wrong and in my opinion litter wardens need to visit for a good couple of weeks and fine people chucking litter to maybe get the message across that it is not acceptable. I think it's unfair blaming it all on the Roma people because I have seen Pakistanis, Somalis, white people, Polish, Hungarian, and African people chucking litter with my own eyes. Regarding the congregating in groups I have told police why don't you move them on like you used to move us on when I was a young as they sometimes get rowdy and intimidating and the response was that if they are not doing anything wrong it would be against their human rights! The police are scared to move these large groups on and just drive through the area in the safety of their squad cars, I have seen them drive past when cars are parked on zig zag lines near the zebra crossings so the scroats realise that the police are not bothered and get more braver. Narden Dee Posted April 2, 2017 Share Posted April 2, 2017 yes its bad but its not just the roma its also the shops (predominantly asian run ) who also fill up the litter bins with their rubbish, but i know of one of a few that try to keep on top. what is needed is enforcement but in order to do that SYP (not the pcso who have zero powers) would also need to attend to back up the council staff carrying out their role and i cant see them doing that somehow as its just too hard. also to be fair Mark Jones has been doing a lot of litterpicks in the area with some of the roma not somethng you saw from Ibrar or Jackie Drayton, maybe some of the local mosques could also get some of their congregation to help him.
