367squadron
1. no one is asking you to 'mince around to s club7' mate. Hmm, fair enough. 2. rather than me doing a 'mix up', why dont u do a 'shut up'? I was just merely expressing my opinion and i'm entitled to just like the other people in the thread. 3. dont tire yourself out with the song list editing... yawn Yeah i won't bother tiring myself out editing the list, you know wot gets played. 4. look forward to seeing you at the next climax Yes come and say hello, do you think i'll be able to request a song? skyfitsboy
climax tried a shift in music policy last year, and noticed a dramatic drop in attendance. since the start of 2006 however, we have listened to the majority and reverted back to what climax was good at - resulting in full capacity crowds once again! we cannot please all of the people all of the time, but want you to leave at the end of the night, having had fun, and a top night out. Your kidding yourself if you think it was all down to the music Scott! The dramatic attendance drop occurred at Climax during the first few months of Fuel opening, it was inevitable Climax was going to suffer during this period. Apart from the Climax Glitterball its never felt full capacity, certainly not in both rooms since pre-Fuel. I can remember a couple of years ago when the queues for the bar in Climax were four rows thick, these days you can get served almost straight away. Although I would still choose Climax over Fuel simply because its once a month, cheaper drinks and a refreshing break from the sleaze and the 'Look at me I'm gay!' ethos which Fuel promote to the max! 2. rather than me doing a 'mix up', why dont u do a 'shut up'? What kind of professional attitude is that, never heard of customer feedback:loopy:
Moonwalker
The last Climax I went to was last years Viva, I went for the evening and I though it was great I have to say I have not had the 'joy' of trying out Fuel and I don't think I will unless I am at a loose end as to where to go. I am straight and I will say that Climax gives you such a great welcoming feeling whether you are gay or not (not in my case) and yeah alright you might get the odd weirdo in there it still seems like a great night out. Mind you having said that I did manage to halt the dancefloor at Viva last year when an MJ tune was played in the RnB room and I started to strut some stuff and got such a roar from the gathered clubbers that had grouped up to watch me it felt amazingly fantastic Oh the memories Climax all the way

djscottk
Hmm, fair enough. I was just merely expressing my opinion and i'm entitled to just like the other people in the thread. Yeah i won't bother tiring myself out editing the list, you know wot gets played. Yes come and say hello, do you think i'll be able to request a song? .. but when your post is full of bitter undertones, which stem from me not playing a fairly obscure request of yours at a past climax mate, it somewhat overshadows the validity of your opinion... and then of course there was the pedantic fashion in which you listed a few tunes you dont happen to like, which u happened to directly aim at me as well... hmmm:rolleyes: .. to simplify.. i cant bring every single song on earth to climax, nor can i make 4 hours last any longer neither, im afraid. its inevitable some requests wont be played, and also, not everyone will like all of the music all of the time. unfortunately, thats life mate. .. im only a dj, i try my best to read the crowd, and sometimes i dont get it right.. im not superhuman u know! but on the other hand please be aware if there is a full dance floor, and the atmosphere is electric, and bewitched is being played, then its unrealistic to expect something like elton john's sacrifice to be next on my playlist. anyway, thanks for putting an end to your list dude, and oooh, i nearly forgot, u asked if u can request a song... well, there are request slips& pens always readily available - so i cant see anything stopping u. please read the bottom line of print on the request slip though

KAOS
If anyone wants to suggest songs for the next Climax, you can do so at http://www.lgbsheffield.tk, the Sheffield Union LGB Forum. Of course there is no guarantee they will be played, but if there is enough demand they should make the playlist! I look forward to hearing some of the newer tunes in your signature Scott
skyfitsboy
First up you make an unsubstantiated claim. Ok, I dont have access to attendance patterns for Climax since Fuel first opened, but did attend Climax during those first few months Fuel opened. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that Fuel had some impact on the low turnout Climax experienced. Nice to see that the typical gay patronising attitude is still alive and well in 2006. So it's ok for djscott to tell 367squadron to do a 'Shut Up' for expressing his opinions, the very thing the SheffieldForum was designed for?! But its not ok for me to defend a friend from such a harsh comment which deserves a negative response, talkabout double standards, now thats patronising:loopy: my dear skyfitsboy here are some words id use to describe the above post (lets call it feedback, ok?) irregular, fictitious, contradictory, confrontational, nonsensical.... ah. and cant forget how loudly it screams of irony! other than that, the only other concern that springs to mind is whether it will be safe to leave my washing out on the washing line tomorrow.. the weather has been a bit changeable of late wouldnt u say? hope ur ears are ready to get bloody. xxx Oh my beloved djscott:love: Thank you very much for your constructive feedback. Just in case you don’t have feedback slips alongside your request slips, here are a few words of feedback in response to your comments: Insular, Conceited, Antagonistic, Disdainful, humorous. My previous post may appear pretty ironic (one of my favourite words!), but to be honest I don’t really go to Climax for the music, I go to socialise with friends and get pi*sed. :D I’ve no doubt in my mind you will play THAT song on Friday night, that’s another thing why I prefer Climax it has two rooms, you can simply walk in and out to avoid the stale cheese. yocpum
I have to say Sheffield is the 4th biggest city in this country and i always wondered why people never thought of it as a good place to start a gay scene now i no why Who wants to set up new places when you see things like this all i say is well done fuel u need an award for bravery lol. All i see on this site is bitching and moaning , comlaining and comparing things against another. can i ask all of thses people that feel the need why! the reason there is no gay scene and this is my opinion may i add is because of the reasons above at the end of the fuel is a nightclub and climax is a night two totaly different gay gatherings lol. so why are we comparing i enjoy climax and i enjoy fuel i go tlo both as i feel they have different positives and negs maybe people that slag fuel of is because of personal reasons ie jealousy and people like new things but who knows .competion is agood thing for god sake just let the gay scene beeeeeeeeee
