Illegal right turns (Glossop/Hannover junction)

A61 - Parkside road, keep going up the hill.

easy, and it helps congestion in Hillsborough centre.

Where's that?

Also, that's not really the point is it. Perhaps my journey could have gone a different way (that I don't know), but the point remains that getting from one side of a crossroads to the other requires a detour of a mile, which is crazy.

Up the side of the football stadium, after the park. It is the easiest and quickest way to get from town to Wadsley, Worrall and beyond.

You need your bumps feeling for trying to drive through Hillsborough:)

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. :)

It really does help the flow of public transport. There are plenty of perfectly good routes by car into and around Hillsborough centre.

I try to avoid driving round there and round town too, although I have little choice working here. It's not very car friendly!

Thankfully I don't go to Wadsley any more. It was a right trek! :)

The other decent route is Rivelin Valley Road and then through Wisewood and down Ben Lane. That's my preferred route, as it avoids all those traffic lights.

There's apparently some sort of park on Rivelin Valley Road. I'm told I need to look, as apparently it's nice.

It is lovely. Nice cafe, nice park, good spot for dog walking.

Other recreational activity can also occur down there, so choose your time to go and look with care.:)

My other favourite is the Hillsborough Tram Gate. If you want to go straight through in peak time, out of town, you have to turn up the hill, go right, drop onto Holme Lane, where you then can't turn right, so turn left, go down Holme Lane until you can do a U-turn down a side street, get back onto Holme Lane, then eventually turn left. It's about a mile instead of the 200 metres it would be.

But it's Sheffield Council. I'd expect nothing less.

Well if you prefer to go the slow way
