Accommodation in exchange for sex

Recommended Posts

Just like prostitution, a person must have sunk very low to do it, the main immoral act is buying it.

I give blood, or at least I used to; for the good of other people, how how is saving another persons life worth?

The question was is it immoral to sell?

It is wrong in many cases, just as we have a better system in this country of giving blood, not selling it.

How much is blood, liver or sex worth?

I suppose it varies .. how much would you pay to save your life?

"Sorry Mr Cid,you'll die without a liver transplant..unfortunately there are no free ones so you'll have to pay" What would you do?

Why is any form of buying sex immoral?

I don't think either buying or selling sex is immoral, but in this case I do think it is likely to be highly impracticable and problematic, unless a detailed and explicit contract was drawn up and agreed by the consenting parties. The whole point about prostitution is that it entails a limited commitment on both sides, with no integral emotional or social baggage. But this is likely to be difficult to achieve if you are living in the same space or have regular social interactions.

It would be far better if the landlord obtained his money through paying tenants in the normal way and then he could spend his money on anything or anybody he sees fit.

Absolutely agree. This is the landlord side of the exact same thing I posted from the tenants side, that if you want to use sex to pay for things then become an escort, earn the money that way and use it to pay for rent rather than walk into a bizarre and highly exploitable situation.

You keep saying that things are wrong or immoral, but you can't explain why... That sounds a lot like it's just an opinion.

Anyone in the position of having to get accommodation this way should shout RAPE with life imprisonment for offenders who choose victims with a mental disorder.

What? It's not illegal to pay for or sell sex, so is every person who sleeps with a prostitute a rapist? I think everyone on this thread agrees it's a situation massively open to exploitation, but consensual sex for money isn't illegal and shouldn't be, it's the very odd nature of the tenancy agreements that are the problem and as others have said, if the landlord wants to pay someone for sex then he/she should rent the room on normal terms and use that money to hire an escort...
