Mister M
The tories as right wing as the BNP? http://evolvepolitics.com/ambassador-theresa-may-manifesto-bnp/ interesting take I wonder what happened to the Chair of the Conservative Party, who in 2002, warned the party faithful of being seen as 'the nasty party'? apelike
Not my own summary but I can't argue with it... Foreign Aid retained. Hammond’s tax rises. A General Election no-one wants. Immigration not reducing after Brexit. Consumer spending falling. The economy stuttering. Inflation rising. Constant U-turns. So how many are correct.. Foreign Aid retained.. Yep for now Hammond’s tax rises.. Nope as so far there has been none A General Election no-one wants.. Nope only Labour don't want it for obvious reasons Immigration not reducing after Brexit.. Nope. We cant tell as we have not yet left Consumer spending falling.. Nope. Consumer retail volumes have fallen this quarter but consumer spending is up. The economy stuttering.. True in a sense but it was already stuttering before Brexit Inflation rising.. Yep Constant U-turns.. Yep
I1L2T3
The tories as right wing as the BNP? http://evolvepolitics.com/ambassador-theresa-may-manifesto-bnp/ interesting take Probably more so. The BNP had some fairly left leaning policies. They knew they had to appeal to working class communities. UKIP developed that theme. The Tories just want the right wing bits of the UKIP message. Hairyloon
I'm not aware of any other reply by the EU to May's article 50 letter than Tusk's brief allocution on the day, and this, both of which are pretty unequivocal in that the EU currently envisages no reverse gear to Brexit... The president of the European parliament has said Britain would be welcomed back with open arms if voters changed their minds about Brexit on 8 June, challenging Theresa May’s claim that “there is no turning back” after article 50. Speaking after a meeting with the prime minister in Downing Street, Antonio Tajani insisted that her triggering of the departure process last month could be reversed easily by the remaining EU members if there was a change of UK government after the general election, and that it would not even require a court case. “If the UK, after the election, wants to withdraw [article 50], then the procedure is very clear,” he said in an interview. “If the UK wanted to stay, everybody would be in favour. I would be very happy.” https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/apr/20/european-parliament-will-welcome-britain-back-if-voters-veto-brexit?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Because AFAIK, there isn't one.

Thus we simply withdraw the notice and feel very sheepish.

This is our trouble, they have completely divided the country. It will not settle down for a generation or more.

If we had PR years ago, UKIP would have some influence, because they would have some MPs.

Do you, honestly, as a decent Englishman, want to associate yourself with UKIP? I don't. Our parents fought against fascist national socialists for six years in the 1940's, and now they are sneaking in disguising themselves as 'patriots'.. So we abandon democracy for fear of mob rule? ---------- Post added 22-04-2017 at 10:44 ---------- If we had PR years ago, UKIP would have some influence, because they would have some MPs. And their underlying incoherence and inconsistency on everything but the one policy would have been put in the spotlight.
