glad you think a subject as serious as this deserves a thumbs up , what next , a smiley face ?

It is because your way of thinking is laughable.

So breaking your human rights with regards to unwarranted searches is ok?

Yes, your way of thinking really does sound this dumb.

nope not disregarded it at all, its the BBC guardianista article heavily slanting and reporting the few cases where it hadnt happend yet!!!! but was very likely to, for what other reason would a women ask a midwife about FGM?

so what about the bbc article from july this year telling us there was more than 5000 newly reported cases

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-40491311

so which is right? are they hiding it? or telling us, seems to be a massive gap in my eyes for a couple of months worth. Surely a fake news peddling leftie organisation would be hiding such figures?

Joining this a bit late, but out of interest, how much difference in terms of violating the children would there be between a visual inspection by a female nurse for FGM, and the cough test by a male doctor for every boy?

You can't spot all cases of FGM merely by looking - there may well be physical inspection of girls genitals in a somewhat invasive fashion.

I think another difference is that nobody is suggesting targeting groups of boys of particular ethnicities or nationalities with compulsory cough testing.

Well they should. Any mutilation genital or otherwise of a child for religious or cultural reasons should be left in the dark ages where it belongs.

Not sure what you are trying to say, Mel, but that BBC article is referring to data where the majority are adult immigrants that were mutilated when young girls in their home country.

im trying to say, the same website with two different takes on the same subject, now if there was a leftie conspiracty to soften one lot of results, surely theyd conspire to soften the other too? or did they just forget to?

This is the cultural sensitivities aspect coming in to play that you yourself denied was a factor in stifling investigations into it.
