Harrystottle
Guess they are serving smoked haddock now. Boom-tish! We've been to the Magpie a couple of times. It was OK but there are many good fish and chip places in Whitby where you won't have to queue. I think Trenchers is the one opposite the railway station? Zinger549
Rarely seen north of Essex. Some might say that's a good thing. Well they don't know what they're missing, It's delicious.
gomgeg
I never rated the Magpie myself. I always prefer the restaurant opposite the railway station. We only went in once, it certainly wasn't worth queuing up the steps for that day and were both disappointed with the food which was fairly average. The Magpie was good in its day but Trenchers is a much more pleasant experience.
