SkylinePhoto
Labour rules out income tax rises for those earning less than £80,000. The basic annual salary for an MP £74,962. :hihi::hihi:
Anna B
I doubt many MPs, except maybe the most junior, only get their MPs salary. Many will be getting extra income from second jobs, public speaking, TV appearances etc.
TimmyR
I'd vote tory then, they don't make any attempt to hide the fact they only exist to protect the wealth of the wealthy.
Cyclone
Are you saying that tax rises for those with an income >80k, is actually an attempt to protect the wealthy? (Not that income and wealth are the same thing of course).

Cyclone
I'd vote tory then Are you wealthy enough yourself that you won't miss the NHS then? Just one issue you should be considering.

Does anyone really believe the Tories will close down the NHS? They have been in power more than Labour over the years and it is still going. The Labour Party introduced charges for NHS dental services and glasses in 1951, and later the Tories introduced prescription charges for people who needed occasional treatment (not for ongoing life treatment though). I think they can be trusted not to get rid of it, or at least as much as Labour can be trusted not to wreck it some other way.

All dentists are now private, even where they provide, paid for, NHS services.

Take it apart slowly on the promise it can be cost effective to do this or that watch has A+E departments close one by one to make them ' cost effective'. Almost all community services like physio and occupational therapy are put out to tender to private providers now.
