Guest sibon
Why is so difficult for the government, to build houses? Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Phil Hammond are all having problems passing their City and Guilds in Bricklaying. None of them can comprehend why they aren't allowed to use some 17 year old sub-minimum wage slave to do their dirty work for them. Until they sort that out, they ain't building any houses. ---------- Post added 18-05-2017 at 00:06 ---------- There's plenty of brownfield land available. Using it should avoid the need to use greenbelt land. But developers prefer the latter! I can take you to areas of the Peak District where brownfield soil has been swapped for greenfield soil. They arent pretty places. The trick is simple. Buy a contaminated brownfield site at a knockdown price. Swap the contaminated soil for clean soil (from a greenfield site). Hey presto, the brownfield site is fit to build on. The greenfield site isn't so very green any more, but who cares about that? Well. I do. And you should. But we all get taken in by the idea that brownfield sites are somehow better to build on.
rogets
isn't the economy being propped up by high house prices? why would either party want to undermine that with a large house building spree? . And this people, is the very reason why there will never be a mass housing spree Nail - hit - head
