Robin-H
Why would we want to borrow billions of pounds to nationalise the railways? UK railways are the most improved railways in Europe (since the 1990s) https://www.railnews.co.uk/news/2013/04/02-rail-in-britain-most-improved.html Investment in railways has gone up 9 fold since privatisation (from £698m in 94/95 to £6.84billions in 2013/14). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impact_of_the_privatisation_of_British_Rail#Investment UK trains are the safest in Europe, with the rate of improvement in safety standards increasing since privatisation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impact_of_the_privatisation_of_British_Rail#/media/File:Rail_fatalities_of_European_countries.png Also, although 'on the day' tickets have increased markedly in price, advance tickets are actually a lot cheaper than they were before privatisation. Season tickets have increased roughly inline with inflation. Seems like nationalising would be a waste of money to me. Also, Labour have said they'd take over the train lines when they come up for renewal, but that would take years (until 2036). I doubt any one party would be in power long enough to see that through. I1L2T3
I haven't been on a train post-privatisation. Pre privatisation the ones I travelled were often late, stank and stations dark and dingy places. I'm not saying they are great now, but they weren't great then. I have very different memories. Travelled all over the place. But should you want a bad train experience then why not try one of the local decrepit pacer trains, maybe from Sheffield to Huddersfield. Or maybe stand all the way back from Leeds every day on your evening commute. All quite often with added air con problems and toilets from hell. And pay through the nose for the experience. The system is screwed and it screws over the punters royally.

Toilets were awful - but in fairness any toilet that is subjected to the general public will always be up against it.
Anna B
Massive crowds of people are coming to see Jeremy. He's making speeches, talking to them and answering their questions. Then taking time to talk to them one-to-one. No eggs are thrown, no one boos and they seem to be going home impressed and happy. And no, it's not stage managed. Unlike someone else we know. In other news Teresa may gets accosted by a member of the public with learning difficulties in Abingdon. She didn't squirm much, which I'm not sure I find comforting or disturbing. And of course corbyn won't get jeered or eggs thrown. He's talking to an echo chamber. I can imagine how the socialist worker types would have handled any nay Sayers. You forgot mention we have the highest fairs in Europe even America is cheaper. Also some rail companies want to get rid of Guards who ensure passenger safety so they can make more money who cares if an accident happens and no one to help? When I went to see him, he wasn't surrounded by Socialist Worker types at all, it was open access to anyone who was interested, even me. And I get the impression he could handle any hecklers himself, although I've never seen him put to the test. His biggest problem was getting mobbed by enthusiastic people wanting to shake his hand. But there aren't any hecklers Anna. When Teresa May doesn't get any hecklers, its stage managed. When st jezza doesn't get hecklers it's because he's so awesome that he converts all those around like he's the messiah. He's not the messiah he's a etc etc
