Yorkshire 53
Hemingway's famous farm-cum-scrapyard is still on Whitely Lane, Grenoside ( their name and position shows up on a Google map marker ). Much reduced and less military stuff it seems from the satellite view, but given that scarp yards are thin on the ground these days, it's worth checking out. BTW, anyone remember the name of the popular scrap yard which was near the Middlewood Hosp., 1950's / 60's ?

geared
Are you allowed to wonder around the big Motorhog places anymore?
MEC176
If it’s a Japanese car or Subaru, Honda then there is a scrap yard at the back of Savoy Tyres; it’s down a narrow lane called Chambers Lane off Upwell Street Grimsthorpe, there is one between the Police Station and Morrison’s on Station Road Ecclesfield, if you go on Ecclesfield road towards Meadow Hell there is a road called Deep Land go down under the railway line, just on your left before the M1 bridge there is one it’s quite big and they let you walk round in there. alchresearch
Are you allowed to wonder around the big Motorhog places anymore? Not as such, but if they don't know what part you're after they'll escort you to get it yourself, but you have to be high-vissed up and sign a safety form. geared
I do much prefer the old style yard. Cars stacked several high, the part you always need is just out of reach so you end up climbing around the pile to get to it. The good old days :hihi::hihi:
