You cannot take the 2nd left in that lane

You can take whatever lane you like there is nothing stopping you.

What you cannot do is change lane without considering other drivers.

Obellix, you really ought to know better, seriously.

Do you have any formal driving qualifications?

No ones come up with any reason whatsoever apart from "oh signs say this" and "arrows say that"

It is incumbent on all drivers to drive with due care for others. You should observer lane discipline HC rule 131.

That's all you have to guide you on this. White car change lanes. Oops.

So the black car can take whatever lane it likes and then, without considering other road users can turn left across a roundabout without considering that a car on its inside may be going straight on as it is supposed to do?

Ok

You're obviously referring to the Audi, which didn't consider the white car in the correct lane for going straight on.

I agree, BUT if you want to go to Rotherham the correct lane is where the white car is, that is the only lane you can safely use.

edit

it wasn't safe for that white car

The white car changed lanes.

Have you appreciated that fact yet?

The signs BEFORE that point mean absolutely nothing. It is what you have at that point in time that counts. Nothing else.

Strawman. Stop misrepresenting what I said.

Which car changed lanes?

I assume you reckon the white car didn't do this? Which sign was the most recent he will have passed over?

There is no sign. But then, I didn't say sign exclusively, I said sign or markings (those dotted lines on the road that delineate 'lanes'). Those dotted lines which indicate lanes, contradict and superceed the previous signage.

At the point in time when the cars were about to join the RA, white car was in the correct lane to go straight ahead to rotherham. At the point in time just before the collision, the white car was not in the correct lane to go straight on to rotherham.

It's a reasonable presumption. White people (who are probably the majority of posters on here) have an inbuilt bias against things that are large (because they are bullies) black (because they appear intimidating) and successful (which Audi's generally tend to be)

Add to that the not unreasonable presumption that a big Audi will be driven fast (which wasn't the case here) then there is a subconscious bias at work. Another thing they teach you on a proper driving course as it happens...

Come on, seriously?

You know the white car was in to correct lane for going straight on, you've seen the video.

You've also seen the Audi in the lane (M1S), and turning left (M1N).
