Now SgtKate, no political opinions in this thread, we have many others. OP asked for impartial advice and none of us are so shush. When you 'conjure up money from thin air' you devalue the pound. But yet we did exactly that to save the banks, because it was decided that the costs to letting them fail was higher than the hit to our economy by devaluing our own currency.
