hagrid
Here is the answer. The famous quote - You should try everything once except incest and morris dancing, has been attributed to numerous people including conductor Thomas Beecham and composer Arnold Bax. It was also taken for the title of English glamour model, actress and a former Page Three girl, Linzi Drew's autobiography called Incest and Morris Dancing. nikki-red
We were sat in Shakespeares beer garden a few weeks ago and a group of Boggarts Breakfast were there. They looked amazing and would spontaneously start playing instruments and getting up and dancing. Highlight of our afternoon!
Mayfly182
Somebody famous once said "There are two things that one shouldn't try, Morris dancing and incest" This is going to annoy me now, trying to remember who? I know that quote as "I'll try anything once except incest and bungee jumping" I wonder how many versions there are?
petemcewan
Turn into a windmill. Imagine a windmill turning. Copy those actions with you arms. Transcribing a great slow moving arc-and you will wave yourself calm. Try and encourage a total stranger to join you . From the" Little Book Of Calm ".Aut. Paul Wilson. Mr Bloke
Turn into a windmill. Imagine a windmill turning. Copy those actions with you arms. Transcribing a great slow moving arc-and you will wave yourself calm. Try and encourage a total stranger to join you . From the" Little Book Of Calm ".Aut. Paul Wilson. Hmmm... ... I'm not sure that's very good advice to take in a crowded pub on a Saturday night though? Flailing your arms about in a manner likely to cause widespread beer spillage, whilst trying to encourage total strangers to join you in the same pursuit does not strike me as a particularly good way to remain calm... ANGELFIRE1
A quick google brings up wikipedia that tells of this style of dance stemming from 1448. Why ban something that has endured for all these years. Angel1.
