Ms Macbeth
I used to think that, and then Thatcher got in. And changed who were the winners and losers. The seventies and early eighties weren't kind to those of us who suffered from the industrial actions brought about by the (then) fairly highly paid strongly unionised industries. They weren't kind to the ordinary worker paying 33% income tax, with high earners paying 83%. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2013/apr/09/britain-without-margaret-thatcher
mickey finn
Even 20 years ago that was an utterly moronic statement, Thatcher had been in charge already so people knew full well how things would go with a woman in charge. Thats a moronic statement in itself.

El Cid
I vividly remember 20 odd years ago, numerous prominent women saying that the UK's politics was run by men and it would be so much better if they (women) were in charge. Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson has announced that she is three months pregnant, just glad she is not in charge; would running the country be left until her maternity leave is over?
