No it hasn't.

It's a different type of building...that's not a tower block, it looks like maisonettes.

still big enough and bad enough to die in, not quite as towering but definitely an inferno looking at those pictures, and like Grenfell, peoples concerns ignored

Not ignored, but placated and told there was nothing to worry about.

Not enough lessons have been taken from this.  Heaven knows what it's going to take, if Grenfell wasn't enough.

Yes.  It's quite obvious that for all their photo calls, our politicians don't care a jot for the Grenfell victims or others in social housing elsewhere.

So, the Grenfell Inquiry report will be published on 30th October. A day before Brexit day and a convenient day to bury bad news.

In addition, phase two of the inquiry wont report until 2021. So no prosecutions can happen until after then. So the architects, politicians, housing advisers and Health and Safety experts can all breathe easy for a few more years, at least.

This is is the true elite protecting itself. Forget the nonsense spouted by Brexiters of a metropolitan elite. This is the police, the judiciary and the political classes all conspiring to withhold justice from some of the poorest in our society.

Truly shameful.

Truly shameful.

Are we failing to mention the manufacturer of the faulty washing machine which potentially start the fire.  Are we failing to mention the dodgy landlords and tenants cramming people in the flats illegally beyond their capacity.  Are we failing to mention the simple fact that if all standards and codes were complied with as at the time of installation there is nothing they can be prosecuted for.

The key outcome for this enquiry is to find out exactly what happened, how it happened and to change the regulations so it never happens again.

What it should not be used for is some stick to do a load of generic and unrelated bashing against the so called 'elites'.

It sickens me when people use this tragedy as a lame excuse for a bit of generic anti-tory protest.

Hardly generic, is it?

Pretty much the richest borough in the UK, run by a Tory council which completely neglects those who are its poorest citizens, who let’s be frank, they couldn’t give a monkey’s about is a legitimate criticism.

If you can’t criticise the Tories over that, what on earth can you criticise them over?

What council put the cladding on the Hanover block in Broomhall? (not a rhetorical question, I don't know the answer)

I noticed that it was stripped off and reclad at a cost of about £4 million.

Also I noticed the Children's Hosp has recently been stripped and reclad.
