Listened as the overview of findings were read out.

Shocking!

It sounds like some people might need to worry about going to prison.

Nobody is going to prison any time soon. The met reckon that it will take other 18 months to gather evidence for a criminal trial.

We are witnessing the establishment protecting itself at the expense of justice for the poor.

It really is a disgrace.

The Architects must be ones that specified the cladding ,    unless corners where cut  and the builders or suppliers used ones of a different spec , If so  pick your cell and hope its a safe jail .

This is true, can only imagine how upset the families of those who died must be as the findings were read.

It’s not the responsibility of the architects to carry out their own fire tests. They rely on the veracity of the safety certificates issued by those that do the testing.

Eric Pickles amongst those highlighted. A fixation on "cutting red tape":

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/sep/06/eric-pickles-urged-to-quit-as-tory-peer-over-grenfell-inquiry-criticism

Quote

Pickles had “enthusiastically supported” the prime minister’s drive to slash regulations and it dominated his department’s thinking to the extent that matters affecting fire safety and risk to life “were ignored, delayed or disregarded”.

It also looks like Pickles flat out lied to the enquiry about whether he knowingly weakened fire safety regulations - all the other witnesses from his department say he did, he says he didn't. Which is not surprising, considering what a self-serving arrogant c**t he is.

Everything Pickles has done in politics has been snide, manipulative, dishonest, malevolent and driven by greed. Nothing I can say can be anywhere near as bad.

The tragedy happened over seven years ago and criminal trials aren't expected until a further eighteen months?

In Hamlets soliloquy ' To be or not to Be '  he laments the things that make life unhappy.  Two of which are " The insolence of Office " and " The laws delay ". In another of his plays Henry VI part II he has a character say " The first thing we do is, let's kill all the lawyers. " Obviously the Bard was not a fan.

Shakespeare died in 1616, four hundred and eight years ago. There is still insolence from those in Office when dealing with the general public and the law still takes its own sweet time arriving at conclusions. Little changes, and you are correct, it's a disgrace.
