retep
The best opportunities were alway going to be as part of the eu. Former colonies, who many misty eyed brexiters think can't wait to deal with us, will be queuing up to grab as much as they can. Trouble with that is who for. The EU is already trying to grab as much as it can, wait while the other members get their share of the bill after the UK purse shuts.

All of us, perversely enough especially those at the bottom in the most deprived areas of the UK. Do you think Cornwall and Middlesbrough are going to get the equivalent of the eu cash they were getting from a uk government, particularly a Tory one? You cannot be that daft. The eu will shaft us. After they've finished trump will take a turn (again, you expecting a fair deal from the yanks?) then china, then India.

It'll be interesting to see the spin if these "new deals" aren't as favourable as those we currently enjoy from within the EU.

So those who voted Brexit to get rid of globalisation and sick of being ignored are expected to be dancing in the streets because some foreign countries might pay more to the EU?...........is that what 'Brexit success' is reduced to now? tinfoilhat
Where do you think the money the EU give back comes from? Us and everyone else. But that's not the point. They got the money because of a very low GDP and for no other reason. They won't get that now. Finished. Done. It's not getting replaced. Northern Ireland gets a billion because there is a deal to be done. That's how it works in this country. Poor places won't money from the tories because they vote labour and then poor places won't get money from a labour government because they'll vote labour anyway.
