The Consequences of Brexit [part 4]

Recommended Posts

Your daily dose of cognitive dissonance, courtesy of the Grimsby Telegraph:

June 2016: 70% of voters in Grimsby area choose to leave EU.

November 2017: Grimsby seafood trade seeks Brexit exemption.

To be filed under: what the f did you cretins think would happen?

:D

I do like the Eurosceptic MP's desperate attempt to put a positive spin on it:

Mr Vickers said the possibility of free trade status for northern Lincolnshire’s ports was a sign of post-Brexit optimism.

“We couldn’t do that if we wanted to at the moment,” said the Eurosceptic Tory.

Completely ignoring the fact that there's no need to do that now.

With regard to GDP isn't a reduction only an issue if it's GDP per capita that's reduced?

There was a report from the NHS itself that had estimates for the various flavours of Brexit. I think all of them cost more than £350m but annoyingly I can't find the link now.

Not certain, but I think Cyclone posted it originally.

As for GPD per capita, I believe it's forcast to reduce post Brexit:-

Thanks for that. It got a good laugh from me.

Of course I didn't post the whole article - it would put the forum at risk of being accused of copyright infringement. The original article was available via Loob's link.

The "full picture" presented in the article won't make comforting reading for Grimsby.
