The Consequences of Brexit [part 4]

Recommended Posts

I would have thought that Davis,as the chief negotiator for the UK,would ....negotiate,that means saying something of substance to move negotiations forward.

How do you know he has not? The last meeting press conference, I saw Barnier, was more flustered.

No wonder,he's given the UK a 2 week deadline for trade deal talks to start,so that means finalising all the things that need to be finalised before the trade talks, and we're a year and a half down the line from the Brexit result.

So in effect, you've got 2 weeks to do what hasn't happened yet in a year and a half.

Maybe he has ,maybe he has not . Unless you know different

Gove and Johnson apparently know different:

Michael Gove and Boris Johnson, who led the Brexit campaign but infamously split when Gove withdrew his support for Johnson’s Tory leadership campaign to run himself, have also joined forces to complain in a leaked letter of “insufficient energy” on Brexit in some parts of government and insist any transition period must end in June 2021.

All that first paragraph says is that Barnier is getting shirty and giving out threats , threatening when trying to negotiate puts him on the back foot . Second paragraph really says nothing new

UK has 2 weeks and Barnier is also preparing for a no deal.Gove has said that May can authorise Davies to offer more money to the EU so Davies might still get a box ticked on his paper, wouldn't bet on it though.

hope not, play hardball, too much-placating nice talk, from last press I saw Barnier, played is hand and we should call it. Perhaps then the real player will come out and speak.
