The Consequences of Brexit [part 4]

Recommended Posts

They fought against the far right, not to have our country hijacked by it.

And no they don’t need to be discarded but they will gradually die off, and be replaced with younger voters with a different outlook. That is a fact.

that's a turn around perhaps you reflected on what you wrote?

These voters believed a pack of lies and have landed an £80 billion Brexit bill on future generations. Essentially, it was the pensioners at the end of their lives who wanted Brexit and few others. These are the tinpot Alf Garnetts of this world who refused to settle for the result of 1975 and believed the nonsense written on the side of a bus, but you can bet if there is another referendum in five or 10 years time the result will be different, especially as half the Brexiteers won't be around then.

The likelihood is - another referendum might well come sometime in the mid or late 2020s, when many of the foreigner-hating Colonel Blimps have gone. Of course the Brexiteers showed scant respect for the referendum of 1975.

Very few who fought in World War II are still alive. 98% of those who fought for our freedoms have now kicked the bucket. The overwhelming majority of elderly were young children during the war, or weren't even born then, but became the selfish I'm alright Jacks of the 1980s who denied opportunities to future generations of youth.

I am referring to the present generation who were young during the 1950s and 1960s who are largely in the 65 - 85 age bracket. You first mentioned those who fought for democracy, very few of which are around today. Those who have passed on voted to remain in 1975. It is people who were alive in 2016 who gave us this result. They were daft enough as to believe the lies of Farage, the Daily Mail, Express and Sun and soak up their bigoted rhetoric like a sponge. By the way, you are clearly happy to pass a £100 billion bill to youngsters because it suits you and your ilk. If people are struggling here, it isn't the fault of foreigners in Brussels but of those in Westminster.

As a patriot, should you not do what you consider best for the UK? Yes or No?

Simple binary question...

Which then leads to...

If you believe leaving the EU is best for the UK, then back brexit.

If you don't then don't back brexit.

There was nothing disrespectful. It was a statement of fact. The overwhelming majority of pensioners who voted for Brexit are too young to have fought in World War II. You'd have to be at least 91 to have seen action, and there aren't that many men left in their 90s. The main supporters of Brexit are the Johnny Foreigner-hating dinosaurs, who are shrinking in numbers with every passing year and voted for us to waste £90 billion and probably more on their Basil Fawlty-like fantasies, irrespective of what it means. The Brexit bill will mean more savage cuts - the's no magic money tree, continued underinvestment, no more EU projects, much slower economic growth - all of which will harm future generations who had no say in the matter - and all to please a bunch of ill-educated bigots.

Hell of a lot of disrespectful name calling on this thread and it all seems to be coming from one side

There has been no personal name-calling, only stating facts. Brexiteers have defined themselves by their actions, their attitudes towards foreigners - intimidating them and making them feel unsafe in this county - even telling a former US Army veteran to go back to Africa simply because he was black, the massive bill they've landed future generations, and lets not forget that MP murdered in cold blood courtesy of the narrow minded xenophobia encouraged by foreigner-hating morons.

Brexiteers, being on average much older are dying off at a much faster rate than Remainers. It stands to reason - 65% of over-65s voted for Brexit. True patriots want their kids to have things better than what they did, the ageing I'm alright Jack Brexiteers don't.

Nice rant your point is?

Its a brutal fact, unlike the lies plastered all over the Brexit battle bus and the pages of the Daily Mail, Sun and Express, which the likes of yourself chose to believe. But the Brexiteers will shortly be yesterdays men, and today's young will eventually get their chance to reverse the wrongs of their predecessors.
