The Consequences of Brexit [part 4]

Recommended Posts

Am I to take it from your posts that you do not want this UK sweatshop from the Tories? Instead you are betting that Corbyn takes the reins and is able to enact his policies?

A few more Tory Remainer rebellions - which will come - and the May government will fall. There will be another general election next year, I'm certain of it.

Unfortunately Labour still has many Blairite Remainers amongst it's ranks. The sooner Momentum deals with these capitalist careerists the better.

Dear Comrade, I thought I was the last far-left socialist dinosaur on this forum (since the others died of poverty)

I was wrong :D

But do you never stop for a second to realise that you are in the global capitalist elite?

You have internet, a roof over your head, food on the table - that's lots more that billions in the world - why aren't you giving it up for them?

I am certainly NOT in the global capitalist elite.

I am a worker.

I am exploited by the global capitalist elite.

The only reason we have the things you mention is because our ancestors struggled and sacrificed everything to create trades unions and later political representation to improve the lives of the poorest.

He is the one railing against capitalism - I am happy to accept I am one, living in a first world country, with all the trimmings of a nice lifestyle so I am not the hypocrite.

His statement "Those who support it are in reality supporting the interests of the global capitalist elite." while not rejecting his capitalistic lifestyle shows his hypocrisy.

But he is obviously happy calling the kettle black.

But I don't support the Single Market. I want to destroy it.

Car Boot is railing against the capitalist elite, not the system, that in most countries is unavoidable there's always someone taking advantage of another for profit.

. . . there's always someone taking advantage of another for profit.

why do you think handing power to a bunch of Tory posh boys (to use an insult that Sir Nige’ spat at his only MP, Douglas Carswell) will improve matters ?

I am also in the capitalist elite - the very fact that I live in the UK and am proud to be British puts me in that bracket - you can't escape it, except by giving it all up and leaving.

Trades Union are in their very make up elitist - think about it - you need to be employed and earning a wage to be in a Trade Union - the majority of the world don't do that - therefore you are in an elite group.

You need freedom to express your opinions - the majority of the world don't do that - therefore you are in an elite group.

You have a voice which can make a statement - the majority of the world don't have that - therefore you are in an elite group.

And finally - you want to be in a single market that is called the UK - do you want to destroy the UK?

Wake up and smell the coffee!

There is always an elite - think about the USSR - and then the parallels with the novel 1984.

"in ALL countries is unavoidable there's always someone taking advantage of another for profit."

If you can name a country in which there isn't an elite (socialist or capitalist) I would be amazed!

Workers who depend upon a wage to survive, as do I, are not members of any capitalist elite. It is absurd to even suggest so. I do not own any means of production, or distribution, for food, clothing, shelter and other things necessary to life.

Just because a person lives in an advanced wealthy western country does not make one a capitalist. The majority of people in any capitalist society are not capitalists, but the workers who create the profits which are spent by the capitalists.

The EU in all its forms was created by this capitalist class, primarily to rebuild German and French monopoly capitalism. Unelected EU institutions such as the European Commission and the European Central Bank have acquired powers to initiate and enforce policies of privatisation, deregulation and monetarism, all enshrined in EU law.

There is, and can never be, anything good about an increasingly militarised big business club.

Anybody can join a trade union. Including the unemployed.

Of course, under EU law, your employer is compelled to recognise your workers union (providing there are more than 21 of you). Which isn't a bad thing.

Also a lot of the warehouses and distribution centres are filled full EU migrants - I met a few the other week. Why don't the good people of goldthorpe and thurnscoe work there? You'd expect near zero unemployment round there, and it really isn't.

The warehouses employ EU citizens over British born people...

Did you see the job advert on SF the other week where Lynx agency wanted a lorry driver to work in yorkshire and stated in the advert that being a polish speaker would be an advantage? :hihi:

Employers prefer EU citizens over British born Brits as the EU workers are seen as more hard working and wouldn't cause problems/kick up a fuss if worked like a donkey as Brits would because the wage is a fortune compared to what they would get paid in their own country.

Who wants to hand power to a load of tory posh boys or a load of labour looneys would be a better question, certainly not me.

Power corrupts as can be seen in Brexit negotiations.
