The Consequences of Brexit [part 4]

Recommended Posts

There is no 'Brexodus'.

EU nationals leave, EU Nationals arrive.

The number of EU nationals applying for British citizenship has nearly doubled since the Brexit vote.

FACT.

The number of EU nationals applying for British citizenship has increased by 80% since the Brexit vote as thousands of EU citizens flee the corrupt and failing political and economic union.

They're probably the ones already living here who are frightened they'll be kicked out if they don't have citizenship...

You know - every time I see someone post that thinks that a four letter word in capitals somehow means they have an unassailable argument....

Well lets just say that I think the argument is one pile of a four letter word and they are best described by a different four letter word that shares the same first letter...

Surely EU nationals would much prefer to live in the EU political and economic paradise?

Why do they, in record numbers, much prefer to live in a non-EU UK?

Because they're lives are established here along with friends, families and work?

Bit of a twisted view on what’s happening.

Long standing EU migrants are applying for citizenship because they are established here and want to preserve their status before the drawbridge is raised.

New would be immigrants are falling because their status is not assured in the future.Nor are they sure that the U.K. will be a better proposition economically in the future.

Hitherto they have been EU nationals living under freedom of movement in a EU country.

You have voted for this not to be the case in the future.

I wonder how all the statistics on employment, unemployment, e.t.c. are affected by the increasing number of people that are fully retired, - part retired, e.t.c.

If number of retirees (claiming the state pension) is going up each year both in total and as a percentage of population, but, the number of retirees that are still working (at least part time) is going up then presumably that skews the figures to show more people in work/employment, but there isn't a corresponding adjustment to unemployment figures (because they wouldn't be entitled to register as unemployed?).

Is that right?

I think that's correct.

If they were established why didn't they apply for citizenship before brexit?
