The Consequences of Brexit [part 4]

Recommended Posts

The only ones emptying the seas are the EU, most of the fish caught in UK waters goes to the EU, that degree isn't doing you much good.

For the love of god just get some perspective on this.

Nobody is pinching our fish, and the agreements in place allow us to fish other waters not just our own. We have the second biggest catch of all EU countries.

Mrs May has done it now - screwed the UK, and her tenure.

Boris is playing a blinder.

Yes this has got to be close to the end.

She’s clearly concocting ideas on a week to week basis, with almost no evidence of any strategy.

I’ve said it before - get a hardline Brexiter in to collapse the process ASAP. Then we can expose the folly, and move on to a sensible future.

It's UK fishers taking it to the EU,who are they going to sell it to after Brexit?

On the Marr show today May clearly laid the responsibility for Irish border issue to Boris.

She said "Boris says he is clear that there will not be a hard boarder".

This is where you guys who are banging on about fishing show how deluded you all are.

Who cares about fishery if we can’t secure the financial sector in the City of London? You have your priorities completely wrong. We really should be talking about how critical it is for the City to secure its financial passport.

The trade war the US is starting shows how little we are on our own. The US don’t care about us as there is no special exemption for the UK.

They care because fisheries is one of the dog whistle themes. They are conditioned to responding to it.

If Johnson repeated his ‘EU stealing our fish’ sound bite tonight we’d have a week of Brexit foot soldiers angrily banging on about fishing without even knowing what they were on about.

It’s all diversionary from the real agenda, which no doubt could be distilled into a simple shopping list of outcomes requested by friends of the hard Brexiteers. And fishing won’t even be in the top 100 of the list.

The stuff that is going to the EU is going there because people here don’t eat it. That will stop when it becomes more expensive due to tariffs- fewer fishermen again. That lack of a degree is showing Peter, not thought the argument through, have you?
