The Consequences of Brexit [part 4]

Recommended Posts

I will just settle for us being worse off being outside the EU.

We are willingly giving up the only arena where we have a voice and influence.

That’s enough for me to continue to think that Brexit is a self inflicted and self harming act.

On what basis do you say corrupt?

This is yet another Brexit lie, one of the many which has caused the UK untold damage.

The 1975 democratic wishes of the population were overturned by the 2016 vote and so, we are completely justified in asking for another referendum.

I can only imagine that the brexiteers who won't allow democracy to change its mind are scared now that the truth of the suicidal action of leaving has been exposed.

And yes, if we do leave, we might have a blue passport (Made in France) costing the UK taxpayer much more as it will have import duties on it.

Another own goal by the beleavers.

The UK was taken into the Common Market illegally.

But that was not promised to the individual though as post 7698 made out.

You lot keep saying this. But you don’t understand how propaganda works.

Having disappeared so far down the rabbit hole you can convince yourselves of anything, however irrational.

Brainwashed.

Indeed, those words like “Brexit dividend”, "prosper" and "reinvigorate" while making the UK "stronger" are so easy to forget. ;)

Along with those pre-referendum promises it would seem:

More money for the NHS... Michael Gove, Boris Johnson, and Gisela Stuart.

More money for farmers & fishermen... George Eustice, Minister for Farming, Food and Marine Environment.

More money for scientists... Vote Leave.

More money in your pocket... Boris Johnson, Michael Gove, and Gisela Stuart.

No short-term economic disruption - Boris Johnson, Gisela Stuart and Michael Gove.

Stronger border controls... Dominic Raab.

The union with Scotland will be stronger than ever... Michael Gove.

Leavers sure do seem to have a lot of problems recalling stuff when it suits 'em :suspect:

Then the reality:-

Theresa May's ministers repeatedly warned that Brexit would put Britain at risk from Russia

Why Theresa May will almost certainly break her promise to avoid a hard Brexit border in Ireland

If so then by that token everybody in the EU should also be allowed to vote on EU issues and not just those elected to do so.

What? like a referendum?

I think all the developed world know for sure that the UK are bidding goodbye to the corrupt EU. It's just the Remoaners here who do not accept the democratic vote which commits us to leave the corrupt institution, the EU. Get over it, it will happen and the sooner the better.

Angel1.

I have no problem accepting the vote, its the reasoning behind it I take issue with. The petty, bitter, resentment and racism, xenophobia, right wing divide and conquer tactics, all rounded up in a nonsense of blaming foreigners for the actions or inaction of the British Government, at the general behest of the British government or the right wing tabloids.

You have been had.

Indeed. As the blue passport scandal this week shows everything is for sale to the highest bidder in Brexiter land.

As for fisheries does anybody seriously believe that if the U.K. ever got control back over fisheries that the North Sea harbours would fill up again with little trawlers putting a fishy on a little dishie every night.

Nope, those licences will be for sale to the highest bidder. If that means to industrial mega trawlers from Taiwan or wherever that is what will happen.
