The Consequences of Brexit [part 4]

Recommended Posts

The Prime Minister, Theresa May, has stated that the UK will no longer be sending “vast amounts of money” to Brussels - so there will inevitably be more cash available for spending priorities. . .

And HS2, and the refurb of the Houses of Parliament all of which will be benefit us greatly as opposed to the EU funding for projects in the North.

The governments own predictions for brexit are terrible damage to the economy.

So either the brexiteers are happy with terrible damage, or they're happy with a leap into the unknown where terrible damage is likely. Either way is insane.

I'm starting to suspect this is a Tony Blair account.

If no one is going to try and have a crack at the consequences of brexit then this thread is pretty much done.

Well, the consequences of Leaving the EU are not all in yet. But the consequences of the Leave vote are now well known enough to include these facts:

GDP rose 1.8 per cent in 2017.

Employment is at a record high. Unemployment is at a 43-year-low.

Business investment rose by 2.4% overall in 2017, and by 2.6% compared to the fourth quarter a year ago.

Manufacturing output rose 2.5 per cent to its highest level since 2007.

Wages are rising faster than inflation.

Remainers predicted that the vote to Leave the EU, and not Brexit itself, would push the economy into recession and lead to an increase in unemployment of around 500,000. A major consequence of Brexit is that the Remainers economic forecasts have lost all credibility and are now only believed by the weak minded and the gullible.

100% propaganda, the type of thing people fell for over the past 20 or so years from the likes of ukip

LOTS of ordinary folks benefit from the ESF on a daily basis, yet he prefers to focus on one company that may have done wrong, theres thousands of firms out there delivering training and education to millions of unemployed, minorities, disadvantaged for FREE because of this fund

Yep,I know that.....I'm not sure any of it would be spent up here without the EU overseeing it..

The personal tax allowance in 2010 was £6,475 its now £11,500 - thats a very nice tax cut.

The million and billionaires did ok too, maybe more so.

The OBR said that GDP growth would be 2.4 per cent in 2016, 2.5 per cent in 2017; what happened?

The personal tax free allowance will be rising to £11,850 in April. Although it's true to say the very rich also benefit from these tax cuts.

How much money does that save you each year?

Is it enough to offset the £50,000 it will cost to fund your child's university education?
