The Consequences of Brexit [part 4]

Recommended Posts

10/hr for a 40 hour week equates to over £20K per year.

If everyone had at least £20K/year then inflation would spiral out of control, housing costs would go up, crime would go up etc etc.

And those left behind?

They would be the pensioners and those who weren't in these jobs, so the social budget would have to go up and so then taxes would have to go up, and we would be back to where we started...

Get real!

His posts speak for him . If you are of the same mind and want to defend him , fair enough

Now I have to ask what planet are you living on?

The minimum wage gives an absolute bare minimum income to workers. It DOES NOT give a decent living to those who barely survive on it.

Raising the minimum wage to £10 an hour (for EVERYONE, regardless of age) is more genuinely reflective of a real living wage.

Your words make you appear to be an apologist for the bosses in their aim to keep more of their profits to themselves and away from the people who create those profits - the workers. You certainly know your place.

If you give everyone £10 minimum then what happens to those who supervise/manage those now on £10/h...if they weren't on that much before then will they get a payrise? If not then who would want to take on the responsibilities if they get paid the same as those they are responsible for?

Now that Amber Rudd has resigned it will be interesting to see who will replace her.

A similar soft Brexiteer or a fervent hard liner.

It might give some indication of May’s true leanings.

With any luck, she’ll stay classy & manage to replace Rudd with Rees-Mogg :hihi:
