The Consequences of Brexit [part 4]

Recommended Posts

The necessity to pump so much money into the NHS and be desperate for so many extra doctors is actually a bad sign. We should work towards being a more healthier society with less obesity and diabetes etc to reduce the need for so much money and doctors.

It’s not extra money.

They’re not extra doctors.

They are needed to maintain the service as currently designed to operate.

We cant train enough of the specialists we need. Now we are denying visas to some of the doctors who want to work here.

Brexit will impact research in the U.K. so there will be even less capacity to produce our own specialists.

A crisis entirely created by Brexit-supporting parties. Tories for letting all this happen on their watch, and Labour for letting them get away with it.

And let's not forget that a 'no deal' Brexit will place real restrictions on the supply of nuclear materials used in X-Rays, body scanning and radiotherapy.

I'm sure most broken bones will heal of their own accord without an X-Ray but I'm not sure that many cancer patients will too pleased to have their treatment disrupted while the NHS desperately tries to legally source safe replacements.

Yes, read that too.

Within weeks of a hard Brexit if no deal (e.g. if we leave Euratom) over supply of isotopes is made, because of the very short shelf life of the isotopes the NHS will be cancelling investigations for cancer.

We don’t prepare the isotopes in the U.K., they are available to us through the cooperation that Euratom facilitates.

Without Euratom we have no confirmed supply of the medical isotopes the NHS needs.

In which case deal direct, and let the EU find their own.

its not the eu which will have a problem

i've no doubt that it's possible to negotiate a suitable treaty on this matter with both the eu and the us but whether it can be done in the necessary timescale is another matter

Great news for the NHS!

The Shadow Health Minister Jonathan Ashworth has stated that not only will the Labour party match the additional spending on the NHS - but would also increase it!

The Brexit Bus pledge is not just being honoured, but bettered.

Brexit: Good for the NHS. Good for Britain.

Proud and humbled that the NHS will recieve a smaller increase in funding than at any time since the NHS was formed.

Yep, that just about sums it up the logic of Brexiters.

Jesus you guys just get played and played and played, and you lap it up! :loopy:

Would you rather the NHS didn't get the extra funding?

Funding which has been promised by both the Conservative party and a larger increase from Labour. Only Brexit has made this NHS funding windfall possible.

Do you have any details of how that will work out?

It looks as if the NHS will be getting at least an extra £600m per week by 2023-24.

Even more if Labour is in power by then.

Remainers should remember that the Leave campaign lied to us all. Instead of giving the NHS an extra £350 million per week, as promised, they are giving it £600 million per week.

You do realise they are achieving this by raising taxes right?

The alleged £350m a week won't exist after Brexit.
