The Consequences of Brexit [part 4]

Recommended Posts

We don't 'owe' the EU a penny.

The EU refused to put an official figure on the amount we 'owed' them for a long time, claiming it was impossible to do so. Then they demanded £100 billion. They are just chancers trying to con their way into our money. The £40 billion is extremely legally dubious.

We should walk away and not pay them a penny. Without our £40 billion the EU would be on a very precarious economic footing.

We have been through this before. We do owe the EU a lot. It is for all the pensions for UK civil servants that worked in the EU for starters. Nigel Farage has said he would be claiming his EU Pension for example. Also it is for commitments already promised by the UK. If we show that we can’t be trusted on our promises how the hell do you think we can forge future trade agreements?

You haven’t thought this one through have you?

Obviously understanding comes hard for you, I'll give you a clue after that you're on your own,

"British businesses will soon be able to compete in the commercial space race using UK spaceports."

So you think we have British businesses that can build a space programme without any government help at all?

What is the US government contribution to fund NASA? What is the EU’s contribution to fund the ESA? Which British company has the financial means to even consider such a feat?

Do tell.... :loopy:

Simple reply to that, Virgin Galactic.

Ha ha...a prospective space tourism company (using technology that has been researched and developed by others through previous colaboratory exploratory space missions) with no interest in further developing the infrastructure necessary for a competitive space programme. Its like saying that a taxi company are capable of running a comprehensive road development programme because they have a few cars that use the existing infrastructure.

Who's technology do you think the EU used?

Serously?! Technologies that they helped develop through the ESA, along with ESA-NASA collaborations. Not forgetting of course that US space exploration was built on German rocket science!

Or the same as it is now, unless you think they will stop selling to the UK.

What about selling to Europe? That is where we will get shafted, not on buying from Europe.

This makes me wonder exactly how isolated Teresa May actually is.

Normally if a prime minister under pressure, with a badly funded NHS coming up to its 70th birthday who decides to announce a bonus to be paid immediately after we leave the EU then claim it was a 'Brexit Windfall' would be told by advisors...

"With respect Prime Minister, that is a terrible idea which will turn out to be a PR disaster!"

Like Whitney Houston in 2010 and Paul McCartney at the queen's anniversary concert, why was nobody there to tell them that they can't hold a note anymore?
