hackey lad
I’m talking about when we leave too. There is of course the Brexiter wet dream of vetting to the nth degree everybody who wants to visit. But then that would be turned back on us, and a lot of businesses and tens of millions of British leisure travellers would quickly get racked off with it. ---------- Post added 19-06-2018 at 20:44 ---------- Right, so Barnier has his own project fear now as well. I see. Brexiter logic: anything that is bad about Brexit cannot be true. Avoiding / shuffling the question again . Longcol
What is good about Brexit? The answer to that could be seen on the faces of Gove and Johnson the morning after the referendum - gloomiest "winners" I've ever seen
altus
so are you happy then that the eu will not disclose serious euoropean criminals living in the uk/ or serious uk criminlas living in the eu :roll: The EU haven't said they wont give us the information - they've said the UK can't use the existing mechanism because that is governed by the ECJ and underpinned by the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights neither of which the UK wants to be bound by after brexit. It's just another in the very long list of things which brexiters haven't considered that will need to be discussed and sorted out during the negotiations. L00b
The reasons why there are 12k arrest warrants for EU crims in the UK, and 'only' 1,5k warrants for UK crims in EU27, are: (i) no formal vetting or registration whatsoever on arrival in the UK (UK government's prerogatives long available under EU law, and not exercised = UK government's fault) (ii) no ID cards system, nor any legal personal duty to carry identification in UK (successive UK governments' decision -or failure, makes no odds- and therefore fault) (iii) overuse of producers (like any EU crim with an arrest warrant against him is gonna walk into a cop shop to produce within 7 days ) due to free-falling numbers of police officers (less and less resources to enforce non-time-critical tasks/missions) (successive UK governments' decision -or failure, makes no odds- and therefore fault) (iv) simple statistics: EU27 criminals flee to the permissive (see (i) to (iii) above) UK from a pool of 450m people, UK criminals flee to Spain (mostly) from a pool of 55m people, do the maths. But yeah, whatever, it's all the EU, Brussels, Barnier...anyone else's fault. I really can't wait for March next year. It'll all still be the EU's fault of course, but by then you'll be starting to take the medicine.
