Bonzo77
no UK newspapers are doing well, but the titles that are retaining sales the most, and making the most profits, are the Times and the Mail. The Telegraph is not doing well, but out of all of them, it's the Guardian, the most left-wing title, that is doing the worst. The guardian has 7.5 million followers on facebook and 6.5 million on twitter. The times has just over half a million on Facebook and just under 1 million on twitter. Only the daily fail ha's more followers than the guardian.....but they just fill their news feed with celebrities......it's like reading Take a Break.....but hey, if that's how they want to pull in their young readers, so be it! Supertramp
No, no.....of cause they don't They don't. The Guardian is going bust, the only paper that makes money is the Telegraph I think. And not sure wy people think the Daily Mail or the Sun are news. The daily mail's top story is about someone''s divorce and then love island orgy is the 2nd top. The Sun lead with some landlord's video on facebook.

Readers don't even need to click on the adverts for them to generase money for your page. Plus, Facebook constantly profiles your activity (like Google does) so the adverts are targeted to each specific person. If you actually click on an advert and you get redirected from the page you're on, guardian for eg, then the guardian makes even more money. Facebook earns a LOT of money for people through advertising!

Bonzo77
Not enough to fund proper jpurnalism apparently though Many independent journalists are thriving on Facebook. They've gone from single blogs to having offices and staff in a short space of time. Must be working for them. Maybe it's about time they realised that paying stars to write for them and an editors salary of over £300k just isn't the way to run a news outlet that doesn't pat the establishments back and try to win elections for the Tories?
