Until all men have learned how to behave..

THe vast majority of rape / sex crimes is male on female, not sure on an exact statistic but id guess 90%?

And stigmatizing men in this way will only makes things worse.

What will help?

Is pointing out that men commit massive amounts of sexual assaults on women stigmatising them? Or is it pointing out a fact and saying, this is hideous, stop doing it?

The thread is about a person banning all men, for the crimes of a small percentage. That is just as wrong as blaming all women for child neglect.

Get over it; men are welcome at 99% of festivals, just go to one of those instead and stop whining.

How exactly does it 'make things worse'?

Whenever I see people quoting their racist mantra 'all muslims aren't terrorists, but all terrorists are muslim', I like to point out that all men aren't rapists, but all rapists are men, just to balance the argument.

By 'banning' men from something because they 'might rape', it's the equivalent of banning muslims from something because they 'might commit terror acts'.

Prejudice is prejudice. You can't judge, and ban, an entire vast percentage of any population, based on the acts of a few.

See my point above.

Now imagine a festival where muslims were banned because some BNP idiot thought they 'might commit a terror act'.

Yeah it's not right in either situation is it.

People need to stop judging huge numbers of people by the acts of a few.

Men are the victims in approx 13% of all rapes in the UK. This is approx 12,000 rapes per year. Women are the victim of 87% of all rapes with approx 85,000 reported rapes each year.

Assuming that every rape where a woman is the victim is carried out by a man and every rape is carried out by a different man. 85,000 women per year are raped by men in a population of approx 32,074,400 men. Meaning women are raped by 0.27% of the UK male population.

Do you think it is correct to stigmatise the entire male population of over 32 million men based on the actions of less than quarter of 1%'s actions?
