OPEN BORDERS
Lots of talk in the press recently about JRM becoming next leader of the Conservative Party. He certainly is a character. He could even become our next Prime Minister ! Could he be the saving grace for the Tories ? The Eton schoolboy v Citizen Corbyn. What do people make of JRM then ? I1L2T3
Please sign him up as Tory leader right now. That's what I think. The first time he has to argue with his 19th century accent as PM for a 1% cap on public servants it's game over for the Tories Sign him up now
Guest sibon
As a Labour voter, I'm a massive fan of JRM. He's a meme writers dream.
mossdog
......I saw him on "Question Time" last Thursday. He was the only one with any coherent sensible conversational argument the rest came quite poor I thought. He is very measured and highly intelligent,as to whether these attributes would make him a good leader we shall have to wait and see! tinfoilhat
It's like Tory high command have got round a table and someone has said "nah, even at full Boris, Boris isn't as divisive enough or posh enough or weird enough. Who else have we got, remember we've got the most important negotiation in generations to **** up, so we need someone who makes Donald trump look like a rational choice. I know......" It's beyond parody.
tzijlstra
He'd be my dream leader for the Tories, anybody with half a brain knows within 3 sentences the man is a balloon with a posh accent, those without will think he is a pompous balloon. Win/win all around.
Mister M
Conservative Home have published the results of their survey of Tories on the important question of who should succeed Mrs May as Conservative leader. 71% of Tory activists took part. Here are the results: Damian Green - bottom Sajid Javid Amber Rudd Philip Hammond Priti Patel Boris Johnson David Davis None of the above - Winner! http://www.conservativehome.com/thetorydiary/2017/07/next-tory-leader-davis-leads-our-survey-but-is-outscored-by-none-of-the-above.html Looking at that list, I'm not surprised that 'None of the Above' won. Even amongst Tory activists, nobody seemed more appetising than the others! I think Moggy would poll between Damian Green and Sajid Javid .................... I mentioned on the Brexit thread how impressive he was on Question Time. He was strong on every topic and wiped the floor with the other guests. I think he would make a good leader, but there is no vacancy at the moment. It goes without saying the peasants in these parts will mock him, but they know no better.
