Hi/katie48.

I forgot to mention my sister in-law Julie( formerly Reeves) speaks to us regular.

but our chat doesn't usually go back to the good old days.

Julie married my brother Geoff.

I came down to a school reunion that Julie told me about a few years ago and Julie re-introduced me to Janet Hartley.

I met a few old names. Geoff Robinson,Dave Bamford,Graham Bagshaw, Roger Lycett,Dennis Denial.Tommy Whitely.

Hi wednesday115

Great to hear from you - give my love to Julie when next you speak.

Hazel Teather was one our friends from the Wybourn Estate as was Trevor Mallinson & Bernard Nolan. I saw most of the mentioned names a couple of years ago. When she married Brenda Dallamore moved to Canada with her husband (who was a Londoner) as did her sister Jean before her - if Brenda came over to vist her family/ies arrangedments were made to meet up for a drink & a good old chinwag.

Forgot to mention you asked about "CHAS" - he lived next door to us his name was Brian Mellon - as you say 3 or 4 years older - saw him a few years ago visiting one of my neighbours - we still recognised one another though.

Do you remember that my brother Jack, your Peter, Steven Poole & Terry Walsh were all born within a 3 or 4 days of each other (during our 6 wks school holidays) Boy was the "stork" busy that year !!

Cheers M'Dears

Hi/Katie48.

I remember Trevor Mallinson and Bernard Nolan it must be almost

50 yrs since I saw them or heard there names.I hope that they would remember me. Because when you move away from the area that you were brought up in it's great to try to remember and put a face to the names , it makes me want to back to those days.I also remember Brian Mellon(Chas) we used to drink together down at the Woodbourne Arms.

I am not certain if this should be a new thread? But because it relates to ex pupils I will post it Here.

Did anyone from Woodbourne Rd. School achieve their dream?

Why do I pose this question? Well Sunday past I spent a lot of time on the forum, something I do rarely but when I go on the forum I go through just about every topic, obviously Woodbourne Rd. is my favourite but there does not appear to be any one of my age group contributes. I was there from 1945 to 1950 when I left to go to central technical school.

Back to my original question, I remember a class photograph when we where being urged to purchase it, I think by a Mr. Kelly who said “ you need to buy this, save it and in years to come you can look at it and see who as been to prison and who is now driving around in a posh car”, I so wish I still had that photo.

For my part at least since moving to Spain 23 years ago things have gone pretty well for me, I drive a s type jaguar, live in a nice 4 bed house and own various other houses here in Spain.

But I still work obviously for myself, I have one Spanish worker, Javier who is also a friend and so it is more a hobby than work, the point I am trying to get round to is, when have you achieved your dream? I still have a “bucket list”, so do you belive that you have achived your dream?

Look forward to your posts.

Thanks for the reply cazza77 - My brother was best friends with Glen Smith until he went to live abroad. He managed to track him down many years later via the internet I believe. Maybe by friends reunited, I'm not 100% on that though.
