Staunton
Here we are, 9 August 2017, the tenth anniversary of the financial scandal that first broke on this day in 2007 as sub prime stuffed CDOs were found to be more or less worthless. Beware any mainstream media attempts to downplay or misdirect blame from the banks - the revisionists are hard at work! And this week we have been provided with evidence of increasing inequality at a truly monstrous rate here in Britain as the real implications of the north - south divide are analysed: http://www.manchester.ac.uk/discover/news/north-south-health-divide-bigger-than-ever-with-alarming-rise-in-deaths-of-northern-25-44-year-olds/

Guest makapaka
And the Tories and media blame Labours over borrowing of 2008/9/10? And 7 years of Tory austerity have achieved nothing bar increasing our debt and letting the poorest take the burden.
Mister M
And 7 years of Tory austerity have achieved nothing bar increasing our debt and letting the poorest take the burden. 10 years on from the banking crisis, those on the low and middle incomes who find that their wages stalled and prices rising are getting dangerously in debt. At least this time round there are many who can see what's coming.... https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/aug/04/ten-years-on-another-debt-crisis-austerity-loans

The Conservatives have reduced council funding by 50% since 2010, they must have helped to put us on a sound economic funding. QE has helped the wealthy, but done the opposite for the poor. QE has helped the wealthy, but done the opposite for the poor. They've failed to put us on a sound footing and targeted the poor. They were clever in spinning the credit crunch as the fault of labour despite it being a worldwide issue and ignoring the work labour did to minimise the impact to people. Labour were weak in the aftermath and failed to defend themselves properly when the tories got in and the tories have taken full advantage. Austerity has hurt the poor and not impacted the rich - its a disgrace and needs changing.

Labour were weak in the aftermath and failed to defend themselves properly when the tories got in and the tories have taken full advantage. Austerity has hurt the poor and not impacted the rich - its a disgrace and needs changing. So true. An excellent post. Yet some uninformed people still believe Labour was at the root of the crisis, which just shows how powerful the Conservatives are at spinning lies and misconceptions. They are absolutely ruthless, don't know the meaning of the word 'truth,' and are without conscience. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. They have done unconceivable damage to the ordinary people of this country, especially the most vulnerable.
