When rock and roll first started

I remember my parents disgust at the Stones and the Beatles saying they looked 'dirty' when in fact they certainly didn't. Were your parents dismayed at your choice of music in the 50s and 60s?

my parents called them long haired yobs but by the mid seventies even my dad had what they were then calling long hair,even brucie had long hair as seen on the tv recently.

I remember my Grandfather watching the Stones on TV in 1964 saying, 'They'll never get anywhere making that noise and looking like that'.

When it first started especially 60's, my dad used to ask me as to why the groups had two drummers (they didn't) as to him they made a lot of noise. "Wunt gerron at ar club wi a racket like that! was an oft heard expression.
