Ivor&Mel
It seems that the Thyme Restaurant at Crosspool has changed its name to Artisan (though still run by Richard Smith) downstairs and Catch upstairs. Does anyone have any experience of either?
Foxxx
Yes, it's been Artisan for a few months now. I went not long after it changed (to downstairs Artisan) and it was lovely. Pretty much the same as it was when it was Thyme. As you say it's still the same owners. I went on a Sunday for lunch, so it was a limited set menu, but I had a look at the evening menu and it looks really nice, pretty much what it used to be. The food was gorgeous and worth every penny, which I thought was a reasonable price. The service was excellent and the wine menu has some great stuff on it(cloudy bay in stock which I love). I'd recommend this restaurant, it's one of Sheffields best.
Ivor&Mel
Thanks Foxxx. Just wanted to be sure it had not gone down the tubes I need to book a small lunchtime group, so I'll go ahead and see what they can come up with.
Randy Savage
Artisian is really nice, so is Catch up stairs (fish restaurant). As far as I am aware both have lunchtime special menu's
Ivor&Mel
I booked with Artisan last night, for a Saturday lunchtime. But they said the special menus are available only Mon-Fri. They are in the process of setting up a new website, but it's rather empty at the moment http://www.artisanofsheffield.com/
