Puggie
Positive discrimination is still discrimination and should be illegal. You can never achieve true equality if your ideology (religion) preaches that equality is measure of outcomes. Take UoS for example, the number of males studying STEM subjects hugely outnumbers the females. This is called a gender disparity. Again what conclusion do you think most of these preachers arrive at when they see this disparity? They tell us this is "evidence of institutional sexism". Of course nothing could be further from the truth. We bend over backwards to encourage more girls into the STEM fields, and we've even won awards for our efforts. We know there are biological and evolutionary factors which explain the disparity, but that is a big no-go area because it's politically incorrect. Science has always clashed with religion, and if your religion involves fighting the "-isms", no amount of evidence or explanation will ever suffice. They tell you that it starts long before university, that it's down to how we raise and educate our children from a young age. Of course nothing could be further from the truth. We bend over backwards to encourage more girls into the STEM fields, and we've even won awards for our efforts. We know there are biological and evolutionary factors which explain the disparity, but that is a big no-go area because it's politically incorrect. We know nothing of the sort. Science has always clashed with religion, and if your religion involves fighting the "-isms", no amount of evidence or explanation will ever suffice. I'm sure we're all scientists here, so I look forwards to reading the peer reviewed paper that explains the biological and evolutionary factors that cause a gender disparity in STEM subjects at university level. onewheeldave
That says everything about your posts really- so divisive. Arguments against systemic prejudice are almost guaranteed to be divisive, aren't they? An argument being divisive in no way impacts upon it's truth content. Have a think about what you just said and maybe think about how it’s viewed by others. Some others, surely? Not everyone shares your opinions. It’s divisive to call people white supremacists because they have a different view on recruitment policy in the police force. That sort of argument is never going to encourage rational discussion about important subjects. You know that though don’t you? That’s why you just made a generic statement about divisive arguments rather than comment on the fact that someone accused someone else of being a white supremacist. Huffty_500
Quotes being removed anyway on here so there's no point. And puggie is right, tests on IQ and race, speed, everything have been undertaken. The whole white male privilidge thing is just an excuse and a scapegoat to try and use for the shortfallings of some minority groups.

Have you actually looked further than your own nose? look back through history, look how the socio economic groupings existed. look at who was always in charge, look at who was lower down the scale, look at who made the laws, who is in charge of the church, law, governence.
