WestTinsley
Well, Lloyd George famously said during the troubles in Ireland prior to the Easter rising " Solve the Irish problem, and they will find another problem." This could apply to problems in the Middle East, i.e. please one country ,alienate another, it's been going on, seems like, forever. Why can't people forget religion and just get along with each other? I just don't get it, probably never will. Ontario. Lloyd George was on one side of the Irish v British dispute over home rule.. he wasn't impartial on the event. I don't see what relation what he said has having anything to do with Palestine apart from his govt creating the balfour declaration that decided the Brit govt would give Palestine to the Zionist Federation. Another point .. Palestine like Ireland is not really about religion.. The Zionists leadership pre 1970s were by enlarge Atheists.. a famous quote “We do not believe in God, but he nonetheless promised us Palestine”

Get your blinkers off. I used his sentiment to describe the Middle Eastern problems in general. The whole of that area has had a beef with the West since the Crusades and it has never gone away. Call it religion, call it what you like, but there is nothing but trouble on a permanent basis in the Middle East and it is not all down to a plot of land called Israel. Get down from your soapbox. That shows how much you know ... "crusades"..hardly ..it's modern.. The western imperialists took over much of the Arab world after the fall of the ottoman empire... they also supported the al Saud and their allies in the arabian peninsula for decades before then, as allies against the ottoman empire.. They also supported wholesale the Zionist project . They are in no way impartial. Most of the trouble as you put it in the Middle East today is from then.. The al Sauds were allied with the wahabists and have spread that since along with oil. The Zionist settlement of Palestine was also started in haste since 1917.. with the added addition of the Sykes picot plan and the division of the Levant. It's ironic you mentioned Lloyd George ..his government produced the Balfour declaration 100 years ago this year.. one of the biggest reasons for the current situation in Palestine and the Levant region today. The British , French and US empires have played a massive part in the upheaval not just in the Arab world but in most of the Global South.. hardly impartial Edited October 21, 2017 by WestTinsley

They seem to love war and to kill each other. We'll sell them missiles for oil no problem. the_bloke
I've posted links comments along with others on this thread about isreal. But you have called them fascist. The link you have given in the opening post mentions nothing about fascism. You were the first person in the thread to mention fascism. Please explain why Israel is fascist. blake
WestTinsley thinks Ze'ev or Vlad Jabotinski was a fascist, just because Jabotinski was the ideological trailblazer for Likud, the modern right-wing non-socialist major political party in Israel. But Jabotinski was not a fascist at all. And neither are Likud. Although if I was Israeli, I would never vote for Likud.
MTB58
Israel is a terrorist state. How they get away with ignoring every UN Resolution passed since 1947 is beyond common sense. Theyve killed 100s of British soldiers there too .. some don't forget.

If any other country was leaving the EU they would've told them to pee off months ago.
Jeffrey Shaw
Israel is a terrorist state. How they get away with ignoring every UN Resolution passed since 1947 is beyond common sense. Alternatively: how Arab countries get away with ignoring Israels' de jure existence is beyond common sens. (As is Saudi Arabia - that well-known beacon of women's rights- being on the UN's Human Rights committee!)
