As opposed to a man asking a woman out. Right up until my 20's, my mum ( who was lovely, but a bit old fashioned ), used to say it's not a good idea. As for if they really wanted to go out with you, they'd ask you out themselves. That kinda stuck with me, so I've never done it, lol. What does everyone think these days?

Trust you to pop up .I'm not taking you to funkytown. I'm in a sombre mood anyway.

trouble is, there’s not many single ladies left out there so I won’t invest time and effort into flirting with my work colleagues as the chances are they’re already in a relationship with somebody way below what I’m capable of providing.

So if an attractive lady wants to ask me out, then yes please go for it

I agree that your lovely mum was being a bit old fashioned. There's really absolutely nothing wrong with a woman asking a man out. Regardless of gender, if a person really likes another person and wants to spend some time with them, then asking them if they'd like it too is Ok in my book.

lifes too short to be miserable on your own, you might as well be miserable with someone else :hihi:

:hihi:

That’s another reason why I’m in favour of same-sex marriage.

Homosexual couples have the right to be every bit as miserable as heterosexual couples :)
