Anna B
There are now calls in the US to block any further private meetings between Putin and Trump, as well as calls to subpoena the US interpreter (a federal employee) to appear before Congress to reveal what was said in Helsinki, Since when has talking to people face to face, (especially world leaders,) been a bad thing? Surely it should be encouraged?
Top Cats Hat
Since when has talking to people face to face, (especially world leaders,) been a bad thing? Surely it should be encouraged? I agree, but when there is such suspicion about Trump's relationship with Russia, and such chaotic contradictory comments coming from the US president, face to face talks need to be transparent. Ontarian1981
Wow, can't stop thinking about that old movie " The Russians are coming, the Russians are coming" LOL That film was a comedy, much like what's happening today, with all the knee-jerk reactions to "The Summit":D

No-one has said "The Russians are coming" Half of Americans thinks Trumps actions are "treasonous", and that includes 21% of republicans! Doesn't matter how you trivialise it, this makes Trump look unbelievably weak.
hauxwell
It’s probably the people who did not vote for Trump who are saying his actions are treasonous, and what ever investigation is going on at the moment could take years I suspect. Once more there will be people who are saying he will be impeached, probably the same people who said it when he was first elected and of course he wasn’t. He will survive his presidency. The only way I think he will step down is because of ill health, He looks healthy enough to me.
melthebell
It’s probably the people who did not vote for Trump who are saying his actions are treasonous, no it isnt, the most vociferous were people from his own party (republicans) hopefully they are finally getting the message, he is a danger to the world and is NOT a president. Trump was never going to be impeached by a Republican House of Representatives.
Magilla
It’s probably the people who did not vote for Trump who are saying his actions are treasonous Not at all, those who voted for Trump are also saying it. Only 27% of all Americans disagreed with the assessment of "treasonous behavior". and what ever investigation is going on at the moment could take years I suspect. Perhaps... for what was originally claimed to be a "nothing burger" it sure has netted a lot of high profile people close to the campaign. Whether Trump knew... well, we'll have to wait and see. Once more there will be people who are saying he will be impeached, probably the same people who said it when he was first elected and of course he wasn’t. He will survive his presidency. I think he will as well TBH, a second term though will depend on how things like this latest episode are ultimately handled, and how many more of them there are going forward. His tax cuts may end up being an albatros around his neck by that time though. The only way I think he will step down is because of ill health, He looks healthy enough to me. Yeah, he doesn't look too bad for a guy his age, apart from the hair and panda eye's of course ---------- Post added 20-07-2018 at 18:47 ---------- Also, this could be awkward if true:- http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/398074-avenatti-on-cohens-trump-recording-this-is-not-the-only-tape
Top Cats Hat
Looks like in the months before Trump's election, he and his lawyer went around all the porn stars and hookers that he had been shagging, paying them not to say anything in public. Trump 'secretly recorded discussing payment to Playboy model' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-44906898 If these payments are deemed to be illegal undeclared election spending, Trump can't wriggle out of it by saying that it was 'his people' and nothing to do with him as the Feds have a tape of him discussing this payment with his lawyer. What he did before he became President is irrelevant. Clinton was screwing around with a white house intern when he WAS President.and nothing came of it other than a red face and a fuming wife.:
