Watching the Politics Show earlier on bbc2, Andrew Neil was saying it could take days before a winner is announced.

 

That the voting re- count being touted by Trump and his supporters,  is serious given the 1% lead.

This just shows what his presidency has led to, how it has shaped America in the 4 years. He's divided people and is going to do worse if he shockingly wins another term.

I have never seen anything like it in a Western world election. It's absolutely shameful.

 

When we see images of gun-toting nutjobs protesting in the streets, making ridiculous threats and spouting blatant lies just because they are losing a democratic process we usually consider it a kind of thing to be from some uncivilised dictatorship in the Middle East or Asia.  

 

The fact that this is happening right now in supposedly the most powerful nation on Earth just blows the mind.

 

It just shows how much hatred, misinformation and rhetoric he's stirred up over the years. Forget talk about building a wall around the Mexican border - I think it's about time we seal that "middle america" bible bashing, gun-toting, pickup truck driving, hillbilly bit of America in.

 

It is often reported that they have completely lost their 'superpower' status to China and when you look at the television at the moment you can see why.

 

The world is watching and they can't believe what they see.

What is happening in America now can be explained by the lack of a decent opponent. I still think Biden will win but he is a one term president only.

Even if in his one term, he is clearly wanting to change the landscape Trump mania has created.

 

The country has gone bakcward and like ECCOnoob says, you would think it was some 3rd world country and not one of the most advanced nations in the world.

 

Biden needs to fix the problem but I think the true colours of America also showed its ugly face over the 4 year term Trump had.

Trump hasn't changed America that much, he's a symbol of it, a manifestation of just how many thick, racist gun toting ****wits there are out there walking around.

 

Having watched a documentary about civil rights in 60s America, they've actually come quite along way. Not far enough though.
