It's very strange to watch; it's like a cult where the followers, whatever concerns they have, feel somehow so invested in it that they tie themselves up into ever increasing knots of logical confusion justifying the unjustifiable, or else their worlds will come tumbling down on them. It's fascinating to watch psychologically. Did anyone see his speech at the rally the other night when he boasted about having the biggest houses, the biggest apartments in Trump Tower, and said who is the real elite in the US? When he realised how badly that went down, even to his most braindead supporters, he mumbled soemthing about how they are the elite really. You may be joking, but Melania could prove to be a very important player in this story. I know that she is a trophy wife who was bought by Trump but she's not stupid and no longer needs his money. All the people around him are 'yes men' and 'yes women', who are either scared of him or just want to keep their jobs. I doubt that anyone close to him actually admires him. Melania has gone against him publically on a couple of occasions and apparently has been caught watching CNN a couple of times although she has been banned from watching anything but Fox News. Now she may just be fed up with watching a rubbish news channel but she may also be quite aware that Trump and his entourage are living in a bubble and wishes to see how things are outside that bubble. She is well aware that at some point she will be traded in for a younger model and it can't be good for your self esteem to hear that your sleaze of a husband was shagging a porn star while you are in labour. I reckon that she is planning an exit strategy and holds an awful lot of cards in her hand. Trump is exactly the sort of person who is likely to brag about all his illegal dealings to his wife, mainly because the guy is a huge ego but also because he sees Melania as a possession who can pose no threat to him. She could turn out to be the one who has more dirt on him than anyone else and is looking to jump ship as soon as it looks likely that things are beginning to come on top. Watch this space!
