He has declared a State of Emergency and intends to use military funds to build his wall. To do this for political reasons is abusing his constitutional authority. And how do we know that it was done for political not military reasons? Because when this was initially going through Congress he was Twittering all over the place that he didn't care what Congress voted as he was going to get it through anyway by declaring a State of Emergency. He knows that it is illegal because he has already says to day that he expects it to be sucessfully challenged in the courts and Congress and will end up in the Supreme Court where it will be upheld. What no one seems to have told him is that though the Supreme Court may be packed with right wingers there are one or two very fierce constitutionalists on it who will not support someone taking advantage of the US constitution for their own ends. There are also a growing number of Republican senators who are not a bit happy about what he is doing, and the Senate is the key to impeachment. He's going to jail.
