The significant difference between Clinton and Trump is that Clinton fessed up to an inappropriate use of his power with a junior staff member. Not only has Trump not fessed up, but has openly said that being able to sexually assault women is a benefit of being in a position of power.

For society at large, Trump’s position is much more damaging than Clinton’s.

Im pretty sure Clinton has never fessed up to the rape allegations.

He lied (what a surprise) about never having met her - despite a photograph showing them together. I think it's probably true.

I'd hate to be a man on trial for rape and have you on the jury.

There is very little that can be done about it as far as any criminal proceedings are concerned as there is a Statute of Limitation on many sexual offences in the US. Most of my american friends find it bizarre that the likes of Glitter, Dave Lee Travis and Rolf Harris have been jailed for offences committed 40 years ago.

Maybe in the UK you can actually be jailed. I haven't followed those cases but there must have been some strong evidence, even after all those years.

Brett Kavanaugh had his reputation dragged through the mud over nearly 40 year old allegations by that nutjob from Palo Alto, who is a professor of psychology.

Exactly, he only admitted it like some schoolboy fesssing up to being a naughty boy, so as to avoid losing his job. All this was a calculated gamble by his legal team.

Trump yesterday plumbed the depths of even his own ignorance during his July 4 address.  Taking his audience back to revolutionary wars of 1776 he proudly told how the army took over the airports then.

Quite an achievement.

Im increasingly convinced he is mentally ill. Dementia has set in.

Children in cages, tanks on the streets, rich getting richer while people die because they can't afford medication and a sexual predator in the White House.  It's not the America Simon and Garfunkel sang so movingly about.

No, it is a function of always being very rich and pretty much being able to have or do anything he wants.

Most of us get through most aspects of life of life on merit. If you remove the need for merit, then you can pretty much say or do what you like. You stop learning and you stop worrying if what you are doing is right or correct.

This is reinforced massively by that kind of person being surrounded by ‘yes people’ who further protect them from reality.
