That hardly reads as a ringing endorsement for the man and more as a resounding indictment of those who egg him on

Definitely not a ringing endorsement. (It's CNN, after all)

It was a warning to Democrats, they say.

And hopefully one to the sensible Republicans as well as the floaters.

Now here's a surprise: Wall Street Journal Editorial Board Savages Trump Following Latest Indictments.

Quote

Citing overwhelming evidence that the former president had close aides -- who have now been indicted themselves as co-conspirators — attempt to erase surveillance video sought by the FBI at his Mar-a-Lago resort, the editors declared that enough is enough and provided a laundry list of Trump transgressions that continue to cast a shadow over his third presidential run.

"Does Donald Trump not understand the greatest truism in politics— i.e., that it’s not the crime, it’s the coverup? That screams from the page while reading Thursday’s superseding indictment of Mr. Trump, who now stands accused of trying to delete incriminating Mar-a-Lago security video," the editors wrote before bluntly adding, "Mr. Trump is entitled to a defense and presumption of innocence, but this is a damaging allegation."

And here's the kicker:

Quote

"Republicans should also be angry at Mr. Trump, who is again the architect of his own destruction. He led the GOP to defeats, many of them driven by his personal grievances, in 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Add his Covid performance, the Jan. 6 riot, a $5 million civil jury verdict for sexual abuse, plus now a truly stupid alleged Mar-a-Lago coverup," they wrote before continuing, "Yet Mr. Trump still expects the GOP will save him from his own recklessness by nominating him for the White House a third time. He wants Republican voters, as he does Messrs. [Walt] Nauta and [Carlos] De Oliveira, to take the fall with him."

"Good luck if they do. The best revenge for Mr. Trump’s supporters would be to nominate a Republican who can beat Mr. Biden. That’s the way to restore apolitical justice," they concluded.

Remember, this is the WSJ editorial board.  The editorial board that has steadfastly supported Trump, the board that the paper's own journalists disowned as way too extreme, and that proprietor Murdoch shakes his head at for being too right-wing even for him.  They also have a lot of influence in GOP circles, which  is the key here.

I don't doubt that, so far, Trump is still assured of the nomination, but I'm also sure that some influential people are starting to hear the distant clang of alarm bells.

They will find something to get him on.

Been after him for nearly 8 years now, surely something will be made to stick.

"The walls are closing in!"

A lot of money has been spent, as has political capital, by both the Democrats and the Republican Establishment together with the Main Media, to destroy his brand.

They've tried to shame his voters, referring to them as "deplorables" and "semi fascists" but his standing among the actual Republican voter is still strong.

As the wide range of charges continue to pile up, his supporters can at least take heart, that he is only now, at last,  getting his day in a Court of Law to defend himself and his actions, from what has up to now been allegations, innuendos, and "Guilty as Charged" verdicts by the Media, these past 7 years.

This should provide a lot of good political television entertainment, whatever the outcome, and then the voters themselves will be weighing in, in little over a year from now!

But the Trump troubles are just the visible tip of what is really going on in America, which is the incessant war against Capitalism waged by the Left, that predates Trump by a hundred years. so.

The Left/lib/socialist/progressive movement, which has become embedded in the culture, education, academia, the unions, and government bureaucracy is a very powerful political force, which has seen success in Europe, the U.K. Australia and Canada and now looks poised to take over the U.S.

I fear they will succeed! At all costs!

Buckle up, and stay tuned!

Seeing as you have blamed everything but the far right ,I hope that collectively they do succeed in keeping a check on the Trump “brand”

🤞

Hopefully someone within the GOP has the ability to reclaim the Party.

Nothing says "incessant war against Capitalism", than significantly outperforming those that aren't in an "incessant war against Capitalism", under a capitalist system! 🙄

Logically nonsense... fact free rhetoric that wouldn't even have passed muster back in the 50's! 🤣
