Try to accept facts and not twist them to suit your particular biase . Nancy Pelosi was not in charge of the National Guard, she had exactly the same amount of control as Mitch McConnell did on that day. Neither of them were in a position to issue orders, all they could do was request assistance from whoever was in charge.

Nancy Pelosi is doing what a lot of people do when a tragedy happens " Oh if only I'd done this, or said that.... things might have been different, " People died, others were injured and traumatised. Hindsight is of no use, but normal people tend to engage in it.

Has Trump, the person who instigated the whole thing said anything about any regrets he has about what happened? He stirred things up and was the main cause of what took place, even McConnell, a long time supporter of Trump says so. He was urged to try to calm things down while it was going on but he sat there enjoying it instead.

Attempting to blame one of the victims of a crime for what happened instead of placing blame where it actually belongs is very much the type of thing that an immoral duplicitous shyster like Trump would do.

Congratulations, you are a true disciple, do you have a MAGA baseball cap?

I believe Nancy!  😀

From your NYP article:

Still, here's something from Politico's (NYP's source) take on the footage:

McCarthy is Trump appointed Secretary of the Army, Ryan McCarthy.

The Republicans have launched their own Investigation into the events of January 6.

Involves witnesses before Congress, under oath, and penalty of perjury!

Folks are more careful about what they say about matters when under oath! In the wild and wooly media,  folks can sell Russian Collusion and Pee tape hoaxes , Armed Overthrow of Democracy, at will, with no real evidence, just partisan opinion or repeated hearsay, With no consequences.

Best to keep an open mind, until it is over!

Truth sometimes can get buried in the general scheme of things, but over time it gradually emerges.

As they are in law courts when asked to provide evidence of their claims of fraudulent election results.

Just to add to this, from https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2024/jun/13/social-media/fact-checking-claim-pelosi-takes-responsibility-fo/#sources

" No member of Congress has the authority to activate the District of Columbia National Guard. Only the president, defense secretary and U.S. Army secretary do."

So why didn't the president call in the National Guard,  trastrick? Yes, you know why he didn't don't you.

Everybody with half a brain knows why. It was widely reported and confirmed in the  article you posted!  😀

While Trump, Sec. Defence and Army Sec. are the "ONLY" officials who can "ACTIVATE": the National Guard.they can't just deploy the NG anywhere willy nilly, without co-ordinating with the RESPONSIBLE Law Officials of the State jurisdiction where the riots are taking place.

"As House speaker, Pelosi shared responsibility for Capitol security. The House and Senate sergeants-at-arms, who report to the House speaker and Senate majority leader, respectively, serve as the Capitol’s chief law enforcement officers. The two sergeants-at-arms, along with the Senate doorkeeper and the Capitol architect, comprise the board that oversees the Capitol Police."

Here's the kicker, which you conveniently left out:

"On the day of the Capitol attack, Paul Irving, then-House sergeant-at-arms, first asked Pelosi’s chief of staff for permission to contact the Pentagon for National Guard support at 1:40 p.m. — about 30 minutes after rioters had broken through the barricades surrounding the Capitol. A few minutes later, Pelosi approved Irving’s request. But because of delayed approval from Pentagon officials, National Guard troops didn’t arrive at the Capitol for another four hours, The New York Times reported.

Everybody knew there was going to be a huge (legally approved) protest in the Mall where the U.S. Capital building is close by, for days and weeks, before Jan 6.

The National Guard was not called in until after it had started, because the DC Officials reporting to Pelosi, (both of whom have since resigned) were of the stated opinion that the Capital Police were capable of hjandling security, and during sworn testimony, another reason for not making an official request of White and the Pentagon, was the "POOR OPTICS" of the situation.

In any event, it was all over in 4 hours or so, the shortest riot in U.S. History. The so called armed attempt to overthrow the U.S. Government found virtually no guns, among the protesters. and most were let in, as the video posted here prior shows clearly, by the Capital police, and wandered through at will.  The violence was outside on the steps, where police used smoke grenade. and tear gas to disperse them.

By comparison, the BLM riots, arson and looting of 2020 lasted months with $billions of dollars in damages to business and government buildings, with no comparative prosecutions or jail terms.

Interesting article here...

Bannon warns Trump will be sentenced to ‘multiple years in prison’ despite experts saying otherwise

Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon said former President Donald Trump will be sentenced to "multiple years in prison" in his Manhattan hush money trial

In a speech at Turning Point USA's Detroit conference, Bannon bashed the legal cases against the former president and predicted, with certainty, that Trump will be sentenced to years in prison on July 11.

"They've turned the legal system. They've turned the legal system, whether it's bankruptcy, whether it is taking away somebody's law license, whether it's de-banking, and they have the greatest president this nation's head since Abraham Lincoln, and they're, they're about to put him, by the way, you know ... on the 11th of July, they're going to sentence him for multiple years in prison. You understand that, right?" Bannon said.

Tbh I wouldn't be at all surprised. I mean, the Democrats have to steal another election somehow.

Locking up their opponent is one way i suppose.
